Dr. Nishant V. Surapaneni is a physician and healthcare entrepreneur with a background in clinical medicine, hospital operations, and healthcare technology. A graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University and the University of Southern California, he trained in Internal Medicine in Miami, Florida where he also contributed to hospital quality and innovation initiatives.

In addition to his clinical path, Dr. Surapaneni has played a pivotal role in expanding Sana Healthcare’s operational and technology platform. He has worked on projects spanning hospital acquisition, revenue cycle optimization, and the deployment of advanced ERP/EHR solutions to strengthen community hospitals. His perspective bridges the bedside and the boardroom, ensuring that strategy remains grounded in patient care while delivering operational and financial sustainability.

Key Achievements

• Co-led turnaround planning and operational improvement initiatives at Carrollton Regional Medical Center, guiding its transition to a sustainable, patient-centered model.

• Spearheaded the development of Sana Systems, an integrated ERP/EHR platform designed to improve revenue cycle management, clinical documentation, and hospital operations.

• Engaged in hospital acquisition strategy, building target lists of acute-care hospitals with favorable payer mixes and leading market research into certificate-of-need markets.

• Conducted research and co-authored work on perioperative propranolol for PTSD prevention, as well as advanced algorithm development for high-fidelity healthcare imaging.

• Awarded the USC Master’s Research Thesis Award in Biotechnology; prior research included marine biology fieldwork on Catalina Island and clinical projects at USC and NEOMED.
